No. 1 Texas will host Mississippi State in Week 5 for its first ever SEC matchup.
The two teams are on opposite paths through the first four weeks of the season. Texas has dominated all of its opponents and is ranked No. 1 in the country, while Mississippi State has suffered three losses in four weeks to Florida, Toledo and Arizona State.
On top of three consecutive losses, the Bulldogs lost starting quarterback Blake Shapen to a season-ending injury in Week 4. It’s possible the Longhorns could roll out a backup quarterback against Mississippi State as well.
