The incident, which took place at a residence on Sunrise Ridge Cove on November 1, 2023, was first responded to by Lakeway Police. Witcher had reported finding the child seizing and face-down in the bathtub. Originally believed to be a drowning, the investigation over several months uncovered that Witcher’s actions significantly contributed to the death of the child, as additional probing by authorities determined she had attempted to hide “critical evidence” during the initial incident.
