Bird flu detected in California cats; officials stress low human risk despite dairy-linked outbreaks

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Bird flu is spreading rapidly across California in dairy cows.

Around two-thirds of California dairies are under quarantine for bird flu, and Los Angeles County is now reporting bird flu in household cats that consumed raw milk.
