With the need for the Washington men’s basketball team to find a spark offensively earlier in Friday nights game against Alcorn State, former Curtis High School star guard Zoom Diallo got the nod from coach Danny Sprinkle to make his first college start.
The 6-foot-4 Tacoma, Wash., native, who made his original commitment back in December 2023 to ex-UW coach Mike Hopkins and assistant coach Will Conroy, tied his career high with 12 points against UMass Lowell in the Huskies’ 74-69 victory last Sunday.
Diallo, the No. 1 ranked recruit from the state of Washington and the 2022-23 Gatorade Player of the Year for the state, led Curtis to consecutive 4A state championships as a sophomore and junior, before he finished his high school career at Prolific Prep in Northern California prior to arriving back home at UW in June…
