Shooting in downtown Puyallup — two suspects sought after firing at bus passenger

A shooting in downtown Puyallup prompted a multi-agency response Sunday, and an ongoing investigation, police said.

The initial report came at 4:42 p.m., citing multiple shots fired at a Pierce Transit bus headed southbound. Puyallup officers responded to 300 block of South Meridian, just past the intersection of Meridian and Pioneer Way.

“Two subjects exited the bus,” said Police Chief Scott Engle, who spoke to reporters at the scene. “Immediately upon exiting the bus, they started firing multiple rounds at a subject who was seated in the rear of the bus. Those subjects ended up fleeing on foot.”…
