Washington Policy Center sues state over climate law data delay

OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Washington Policy Center has filed a lawsuit against the state’s Department of Ecology, alleging a violation of the climate law.

The lawsuit claims that the Department of Ecology failed to provide carbon dioxide data in a timely manner. According to the law, the Department of Ecology and the Department of Commerce are required to report statewide greenhouse gas emissions for the preceding two years at the end of an even-numbered year.
