First Alert Forecast: Thursday warming up with some sunshine back in the skies, watching a cold front for the weekend

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – While mornings continue to be a little chilly in SWLA, afternoons are looking more comfortable as we finally get a bit of sunshine.

Thursday is finally looking a little warmer, even with a chilly start thanks to skies clearing quickly overnight. Sunshine is returning to our skies though, which should warm temperatures up steadily in the low 60’s. Complimented by a mostly gentle breeze and some drier air, it looks like a perfectly pleasant afternoon ahead!

Some occasional or thin cloud cover will be present for limited shade, but rain chances are out of the picture today.

It looks like another chilly morning could still take place into Friday, but afternoons only continue to warm up, with highs climbing above normal by Friday and possibly flirting with 70s by Saturday. Rain will be scattered on Friday night to Saturday morning ahead of an incoming cold front. Rain should depart by the afternoon and leave a nice but breezy day for outdoor plans if the timing holds.

That front will bring another round of significantly cooler temperatures back to SWLA. Sunday we will see highs only reach the 50s with lows in the 40s…
