LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – One woman has struggled for years to recover from Hurricane Laura, and just when she thought she was finally seeing progress, FEMA asked for its trailer back.
It’s been almost four and a half years since Hurricane Laura devastated parts of Southwest Louisiana. Unbelievably to some, there are still people haggling with FEMA and other disaster agencies to get their homes repaired.
Terra Hillman’s Lake Charles home was severely damaged, and Restore Louisiana awarded $325,000 to rebuild it. She’s hit countless delays and roadblocks, and now, just as she sees the light at the end, FEMA wants to take back its trailer…
