Each November brings Texans to the polls to vote on political issues. One political issue may be the most important issue facing Texans this November is legalized casinos and sports betting.

Since 1992, Texans have spent billions of dollars in Louisiana casinos. Last year, Texans spent nearly $2.5 billion dollars in Louisiana and Oklahoma casinos and sports betting parlors.

With tax revenues off $2.5 billion dollars, the state legislature could mandate a large portion of the gaming revenues be spent on education. A recent survey concluded that Texas ranks #29 out of the 50 states in educational rankings and overall, Texas was ranked the 10th-least educated state in America…
