Fontana ‘tops off’ city hall project milestone

Fontana leaders and building partners held a topping-off ceremony for the $27 million City Hall Annex building on Oct. 1, commemorating a significant structural phase for the building project. Project completion is estimated by August 2025, and city staff anticipates a move-in date of October or November 2025.

The fire administration building will be replaced by this modern, two-story municipal building with a 27,000-square-foot second-floor office space for city and fire safety staff and a 25,000-square-foot first-floor parking structure for public and employee parking at the Civic Center campus. Construction funding came from the Fire Protection District, separate from the city.

Builders and designers from the project’s general contractor PENTA Building Group attended the ceremony alongside architectural firm Carrier Johnson + Culture. Carrier Johnson hosted activities at the event to commemorate the structure’s newest milestone and eventual completion. Fontana Mayor Aquanetta Warren was there to celebrate the occasion alongside Lindsay Lomeli, project manager from the PENTA.
