Are Window Tints Illegal in Arizona?
Window tinting is a very popular way of adding extra flair to your car or truck. The process is incredibly simple, and can be done on your own. All you need is a tinting sheet, water, and a knife, and you can apply tint to any windows of your choice.
Luckily for car modders, tinting your windows is not illegal in the great state of Arizona. There are, however, certain rules you have to follow with your tints to keep your car street legal, let’s break them down.

How Dark Can You Tint Your Windows?
The legal limit of tint on your windows depends on the specific area on your car you’d like to modify. For example, front windshields can have tint as dark as you’d like, but it must be above the AS-1 line on that specific windshield.
The only other windows with a regulation are the front side windows, which must stay above 33% VLT (visual light transmittance). This means at least 33% of light must get through the tint. Aside from that, side rear windows and back windshield can be tinted as dark as you’d like.
If you do tint your windows, make sure you’re able to see while driving, and stay safe on the road…
