TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Northwest Fire District wants everyone to have a fun New Year’s Eve—but they also want people to understand the dangers that can come with their celebrations.
Lyle Talbot, a paramedic with the special operations crew for the NWFD, says anyone using fireworks must have a safety plan in place—and a backup plan too, in case that first one goes wrong.
Talbot advised that if someone gets injured, first ensure they are in a safe location away from any undetonated fireworks, then check that no further fireworks are going to go off, and then help them as needed…
