Median sales prices of single-family homes in King and Snohomish counties finished 2024 with a familiar rise compared to year-ago levels, up 3% and 15.3%, respectively, from December 2023, according to figures released Monday by the Northwest Multiple Listing Service in Kirkland.
When adding condominiums to the mix, the combined increase was 3.2% and 10.4% for King and Snohomish counties. The average increase for all 26 counties covered by NWMLS was 4.3%.
The price increase coincided with elevated mortgage rates, which stood at 6.91% as of Jan. 2, their highest level since July 2024 and higher than the same time last year, when the average rate for a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage was 6.62%, according to Freddie Mac…
