Deputies perform high-risk PIT maneuver on Southern California freeway

A man believed to have stolen a van is in custody after deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department performed a successful PIT-manuever on the suspect Monday evening.

The suspect, who was reportedly making a “shooting motion” during the chase and dropped off a passenger before continuing on, was leading authorities in pursuit out of the Commerce area and into East Los Angeles.
