Elizabethtown officer-involved shooting ruled justified, intoxicated man killed: officials

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — An officer-involved shooting that left one man dead in a police station parking lot has been ruled justified, according to Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office.

The Lancaster County District Attorney states that Andrew Ward, 39, was shot and killed by Northwest Regional Police on Nov. 3 following a DUI arrest just hours before.

Investigators state that Ward was first arrested for driving under the influence around 10:00p.m. on Nov. 2 on Elizabethtown Road. Police say that Ward had resisted arrest, leading officers to take him to the ground, resulting in Ward’s sunglasses being damaged…
