‘It does bring so many smiles to the kids’: Bucks County mom leads toy drive to benefit St. Luke’s

U. SAUCON TWP., Pa. – Running Coopersburg’s Casa Toro restaurant in Upper Saucon Township may be Michele’s Dilger’s career, but her calling is comforting sick kids.

“I don’t think anyone realizes how much kids need that, because you’re confined to a room, you really can’t leave your room, and it does bring so many smiles to the kids,” she said.

For the fifth year, the Quakertown mom spearheads a St. Luke’s Pediatric Unit Toy Drive. It’s inspired by her son Jake’s 2020 diabetes diagnosis. The-then high school senior spent six days in the hospital…
