Man injured in Laredo train incident suffers foot amputation

LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) – A 56-year-old man was hurt Thursday morning, Sept. 26, after being dragged by a train in downtown Laredo. The incident happened around 10 a.m. near Main and Davis Avenues.

Police say the man, from Mexico, was trying to cross between train cars when the train started moving. His feet got stuck, and he was dragged almost nine blocks from Victoria Street and San Dario Avenue to the 1100 block of Davis Avenue.

Both of his feet were badly injured sustaining partial amputations, but he is in stable condition at Laredo Medical Center. Kansas City Railroad workers helped at the scene, and police filed an injury report…
