‘Flood shock is real’: Residents in flood prone Shore Acres selling homes ‘as is’

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — After taking a beating from back-to-back hurricanes, some neighbors in Shore Acres are putting their homes up for sale, at a reduced price.

“I’ve lived in the neighborhood since 1986. I’ve seen many storms. I’ve been through several flooding events. Helene was probably — not probably, but more flooding than I’ve ever seen,” Real Estate broker and President of Shore Acres Civic Association Kevin Batdorf said.
