TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A man is behind bars after allegedly stealing over $8,000 in jewelry from a Tampa Walmart on Nov. 5, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday.
Detectives say they received reports of stolen jewelry from the Walmart at 6192 Gunn Highway and through investigation determined Mark Anthony Vega, 33, concealed $7,110 worth of jewelry in his backpack before leaving the store without paying.

Vega also allegedly stole $1,643 in jewelry from the same Walmart on Oct. 21, investigators said.
The sheriff’s office said Vega admitted to selling the stolen jewelry to pawn stores and is facing charges of retail theft of $750 or more, dealing in stolen property, and false information on a pawnbroker form…
