Traffic board addresses speeding hot spots in Henderson

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The City of Henderson has identified four problematic residential streets where drivers routinely break the speed limit. Now, they are trying to change that. How they will make that happen was the topic of the Citizens Traffic Advisory Board Thursday night.

The city conducted speed studies conducted on four older, wider streets all with 25 MPH speed limits:

  • Pioneer Street from Boulder Highway to Coronado Drive
  • Emden Street from Anchor Drive to Warm Springs
  • Calico Ridge Drive from Lake Mead Parkway to Galleria Drive
  • Patti Ann Woods Drive from Greenway Road to College Drive

At the busy corner of Calico Ridge and Galleria, school crossing guards say they see close calls every day.
