LIST | Where DMV residents can dispose of Christmas trees, holiday decorations

WAHINGTON (7News) — As the holiday season winds down, many residents in the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia region are preparing to take down their festive decorations, including real Christmas trees.

Thankfully, local jurisdictions have made it easy to safely dispose of these items.

Here’s what to do with your tree and decorations:

Washington, D.C.

The D.C. Department of Public Works said artificial Christmas trees are accepted for bulk waste collection. Bulk items are picked up at the same place you set out your regular trash and up to seven items may be collected at one time. Make sure you place your tree out no earlier than 6:30 p.m. the day before collection and no later than 6 a.m. on collection day…
