First Alert Forecast: Severe weather this afternoon before arctic air next week

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) -our forecast has TWO First Alert Weather Days. The first will be Sunday as strong to severe storms push through along a frontal boundary. The second will come right after, on Monday, as an arctic blast settles into the southeast.

Sustained winds are blowing in warm, moist air from the south at 25-35mph. We could see gusts up to 40-50mph throughout the day, so Central Mississippi is currently under a wind advisory until 10 PM. Concerning the severe thunderstorms, the main line will begin pushing through around 2 PM along the MS River and the stormy weather will clear by 10 PM in our eastern zones. All modes of severe weather will be possible, but our main concern will be damaging wind gusts of up to 60mph along the line.
