Topeka police officer hospitalized after fentanyl exposure

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – A Topeka Police Department (TPD) officer had to be revived following suspected fentanyl exposure.

TPD spokesperson Rosie Nichols said the incident happened around 10 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, while the officer was conducting a test at the Law Enforcement Center. TPD says the officer was exposed to a “suspected narcotic substance” that was believed to be fentanyl.
