TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Topeka West students with a passion for the stage took center stage at a state-wide festival.
Topeka West Troupe 3061 was named a Gold Honor Troupe at the Kansas Thespian Festival 2025 for its productions and public outreach.
Senior Richard Johnson was bestowed one of three available state-wide scholarships. Eight other Chargers earned superior ratings in individual events and the right to compete at the International Thespian Festival this summer:

- Phoebe Edgerton-Kufahl – Monologue
- Grace Everett- Stage Management
- Kivrin Staley- Monologue
- Brady Clark and Jordyn Tombs – Duet Acting
- Madison Gregory – Costume Design
Troupe Director Katie Murphy was named Teacher of the Year, and T-P-S Fine Arts Director Chris Reynolds was named Administrator of the Year. Several more students earned Excellent Ratings for their performances:…
