BUSHNELL — Sumter County is still removing debris from Hurricane Milton , which struck Florida on Oct. 10 followed by an aftermath of flooding in low-lying areas that continued for about a week.
The central Florida county was deeply affected by the overflow of the Withlacoochee River, which crested at nearly 20 feet in some areas, surpassing previous flood records.
Several areas received extensive damage and large volume of debris, so the cleanup process is expected to take several more weeks to complete…
