It’s been a long day on Fort Myers Beach and throughout Southwest Florida.
The monstrous Hurricane Helene is impacting the region in a variety of ways and as nightfall arrives, there are growing concerns about Helene’s storm surge, especially along coastal communities like Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel, Marco Island, Vanderbilt Beach, Matlacha and Pine Island, and all low-lying areas.
Photo and video journalist Andrew West has been on the ground on Fort Myers Beach along with reporter Chad Gillis today. West filed the video at the top of this page just after 7 p.m. It gives you a really good look at what is going on at Fort Myers Beach.
