Now You Know: Find out what’s in Estero Bay at October water meeting

The Estero Bay Basin is the topic of Calusa Waterkeeper’s State of Our Water quarterly meeting held on Saturday, Oct. 12. The meeting will be held from 9:30 a.m. until noon at Fort Myers Regional Library.

A popular area for paddlers and boaters, Estero Bay spans 359.6 square miles and is the state’s first aquatic preserve and is located within Calusa Waterkeeper’s 1000 sq. mile jurisdiction.

Keynote speaker Bonita Water Steward Nicole Weigold will talk about “What’s in the Bay” including current water conditions, its impact on the ecosystem and public health and the “fascinating projects that are underway to protect and restore the area.”…
