SHIRLEY, Mass. — Three Massachusetts inmates are facing charges related to a brutal attack that injured five correction officers earlier this month.
Union officials said one officer was stabbed 12 times in the back and another was stabbed in the head during the attack inside Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in Lancaster on Sept. 18. Three other officers were also injured while responding to the attack. All five officers were hospitalized for treatment.
