JACKSON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (PIX11) — Frightening moments for families in one part of the Jersey pines, as a wildfire rages throughout 300 acres.
“The leaves and just the wind- oh my God, the wind was just blowing the smoke and the leaves around so much,” said Courtney Greenhoe of Jackson Township, clinging onto her almost 3-year-old. “Having him is one of the things, and then we also have my father-in-law who has dementia and is on hospice,” said Greenhoe, “so we had to get him the heck out of the house. That was really crazy.”

With smoke billowing and flames encroaching, they escaped in their RV to a friend’s house. Their home and almost all others in the area is expected to be okay – but the fear the Shotgun Wildfire is holding over residents isn’t over.
