DEI discussed at the Discussion of Higher Education Issues – 2025 Kentucky General Assembly meeting

Discussion of issues in higher education including Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), guns on campuses, and the cost of tuition waivers were discussed at a meeting about the 2025 Kentucky General Assembly on Sept. 19. The discussion was for any member of the Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) community in Crabbe Library room 318, the Faculty Center for Teaching & Learning (FCT&L), and on Zoom.

EKU’s Chief Government, Community, and Corporate Relations Officer, Amy Scarborough, led the meeting with a presentation and then allowed EKU community members to ask questions when prompted.

With the attempt on a DEI bill last spring, Scarborough has concerns about what this could mean for the 2025 legislative sessions…
