Heart Math Tutoring program expands in WS/FCS for year two

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools is welcoming back theHeart Math Tutoring program for a second year.

The nonprofit, established in 2013, partners with Title I schools to hold one-on-one tutoring sessions with students in grades 1-5. It mostly worked in Charlotte-Mecklenburg County Schools for years, until it had the opportunity to expand in 2023.

“Our first year was a little scary,” said the Winston-Salem program manager for Heart Math Tutoring Freda Robinson. “Last year was new to all of us. But we had so many volunteers, we wound up having to open a second site, which was awesome.”…
