Welcome to Furniture Today’s High Point fall market issue. Our cover story in the Oct. 25 issue focuses on the furniture industry turnaround. It’s been a topic ever since the pandemic demand-bubble burst in late 2021.

The question ever since has been when will the rebound come? The answer, not unlike the popular song from Little Orphan Annie, has always been “tomorrow,” and like the song says, “it’s always a day away.” Or in this case always a quarter or two away.

Not surprisingly, that’s the consensus of industry executives contacted by the Furniture Today staff for this issue, with effectively all pointing toward 2025 with what might be termed “cautious optimism.” Hopefully, what is different this time is that perhaps the most important driver of furniture sales — housing activity — appears ready to cooperate…
