ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – A man has been charged in connection with the recovery of an estimated $250,000 in stolen vehicles and equipment, according to Sheriff Leroy Ravenell.
Marlon Smith, 54, of Columbia has been charged with three counts of receiving stolen goods, three counts of possession of a stolen vehicle, and two counts of chop shop.
“This investigation took more than six months to bring to fruition,” Ravenell said. “But recovering vehicles and heavy equipment make the effort worth it.”
