It’s game over for some GameStop stores in Upstate New York.
The video game retailer has closed or is closing multiple locations nationwide, including at least five in Central New York. GameStop shops in Camillus (near Fairmount Fair), Clay (Cor Center), and Oneida (Glenwood Shopping Plaza) are closed, according to the company’s website, and the Oswego location’s last day will be Saturday, an employee confirmed by phone. Cortland’s store will close next week, an employee said by phone.
A staff member at the Destiny USA location said GameStop is staying open at the Syracuse mall, as well as stores in Cicero and Dewitt. GameStop employees at locations in Auburn, Ithaca, New Hartford and Rome also confirmed their stores are staying open…
