California AG to investigate fatal shooting involving parole officer. Parolee killed is ID’d

The Attorney General’s Office launched an investigation on Thursday into a fatal shooting involving a parole officer who allegedly killed his parolee in Fresno earlier this week.

On Tuesday, a California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation parole officer was conducting a home visit in Fresno when a physical altercation escalated, leading the officer to shoot his parolee, said CDCR spokesperson Pedro Calderón Michel.

Jeremy Sanchez, 26, died at the scene despite the parole officer’s efforts to perform life-saving measures, Calderón Michel said. The department declined to share more information about that incident…
