The 2024 Annual Report on Antisemitism in Kentucky detailed the increase in antisemitic incidents across the state, ranging from online harassment to hate speech and vandalism, according to a news release from KJC members. It also highlighted ways the community could work to dissolve hate, such as educational initiatives, law enforcement partnerships, and legislative actions.
“Antisemitism is not just a Jewish issue; it is an American issue,” Rabbi Litvin said in his opening remarks to lawmakers on Thursday. “Together, we must ensure that Kentucky remains a place of tolerance, respect, and safety for all communities.”
The report indicated that anti-semitism in colleges was a top concern and said that anti-semitic members on Kentucky college campuses as well as student-led movements allegedly incited violence against the Jewish community. Some state media outlets and radical political ideologies were also listed among the council’s top issues.
