Ky. Air National Guard mobilizes to assist in search and recovery in North Carolina

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Kentucky Air National Guard members left Louisville on Monday to help find casualties of Hurricane Helene.

Eleven Airmen from KYANG’s 123rd Airlift Wing’s Fatality Search and Recovery Team headed to Hickory, North Carolina, to help recover bodies of those who didn’t survive.

First Lt. Zachary Endicott said they took refrigerated trailers, ATVs, generators and tents with them. They will stay as long as they are needed…
