State of Addiction: KY Opioid Symposium unites efforts to combat crisis, focus on youth prevention

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Kentucky Opioid Symposium kicked off its two-day event Monday morning.

Held at the International Convention Center, the second annual event serves as a platform for sharing and fostering collaboration among different communities to combat the opioid crisis.

Billy O’Bryan, the Kentucky program director for Young People in Recovery, emphasized the need for a collective effort, “We can kind of share ideas and let people know what we’re seeing in our parts of the state and different communities. ‘What’s working? What’s not working?’ because it’s really going to take a team effort to knock the opioid pandemic we’re a part of.”…
