As Henderson and Rusk County are wont to do, the community has once again come together to support a much-loved local figure, Robert Davis, Henderson’s own “Shoe Shine Man.”
Davis’s life was wracked by tragedy as he lost everything in a late December housefire, which took the life of his wife of 25 years, Diane. Davis was hospitalized following the fire but has since been released and is attempting to rebuild his life while still dealing with the life-changing loss he suffered.
Jamie Bowman, owner of Henderson’s Enlighten Nutrition, is hosting an ongoing clothing and shoe drive on Davis’s behalf. Since the post-Christmas fire, Bowman has made available a donation box for anyone wishing to help…
