HENDERSON — Over 600 student-athletes, coaches and families are expected to participate in a statewide youth mountain biking event held at the 29 Pines Trails in Henderson on Feb. 15-16. The Texas Interscholastic Mountain Bike League (TX NICA) is organizing “Rock the Pines” for fifth through 12th grade students from across the state to celebrate youth mountain biking and community.
“TX NICA’s missions is to empower young riders through mountain biking, providing opportunities for personal growth, skill development and lifelong friendships,” the league stated in a press release. “Rock the Pines exemplifies this mission, bringing families, friends, and cycling enthusiasts together in the heart of East Texas for a weekend of outdoor adventure.”
Races are open exclusively to registered Texas NICA student-athletes. Local families and outdoor enthusiasts are encouraged to attend to cheer on the riders, explore the venue and meet local teams…
