The Judson Independent School District board has extended Superintendent Milton Fields’ contract to 2028, the year the district’s newly approved planning document, the “strategic scorecard,” expires.
On Thursday, a week after approving a set of goals for the district to achieve by 2028, trustees voted 6-1 to extend Fields’ contract by two years without a pay bump.
Board president Suzanne Kenoyer said Fields, who was hired in May 2023 after Jeanette Ball’s clouded resignation, deserved the chance to execute the scorecard, which includes improving standardized test scores, increasing teacher retention, making facilities more efficient and decreasing the district’s $24 million deficit…
