The event is helping to raise money to find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. Attendees were all given spinning flowers that show how they’ve been affected by the disease.
“Everyone that does the walk carries a particular color flower. The purple flower is for those who have lost someone to Alzheimer’s or other dementia. The orange flower is for someone who may not have a connection to the disease but wants to support the work that we’re doing. The yellow and this is especially important because the yellow flower is for all the caregivers.”
