SpaceX reportedly backs out of contentious South Texas land swap deal

South Texas residents fought SpaceX’s attempt to acquire state park land. They sued the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department over the contentious land swap deal. Nevertheless, the state approved the deal.

Now, Elon Musk’s company has backed out of the land swap deal, according to reports. And nobody knows why.

Bloomberg reported Thursday that a Sept. 26 letter by SpaceX Vice President Sheila McCorkle notified Texas Parks and Wildlife that the company was not interested in “the specific arrangement.”…
