Man accused in ‘unprovoked’ stabbing at Lorain library changes plea

LORAIN, Ohio (WOIO) – The attorney for the man charged in an “unprovoked” stabbing at the Lorain Public Library Main Branch in November 2024 has filed a motion to change the plea to not guilty by reason of insanity.

Roy Lee Fennell, 44, of Lorain, was indicted on the charges of attempted murder, felonious assault, resisting arrest, and tampering with evidence.

Lorain police responded to the library in the 300 block of W. 6th St. around 2 p.m. on Nov. 18, 2024.
