New medical suite at Cleveland Rape Crisis Center assisting survivors

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Jessica Martin the Chief Program Officer at the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center explained why they decided to add a medical suite at their Anti-Human Trafficking Drop-In Center. Its goal is to support and help human trafficking survivors.

“It’s very difficult for survivors of human trafficking to access the medical care that they need. One of the reasons that it’s difficult is because of the stigma that they face from many providers when they attempt to access services. That stigma may come from the fact that they have a mental illness, substance use issues, or that they don’t have housing or have CPS involvement in their lives,” said Martin.

You don’t need to have an appointment at the medical suite you can just show up, call the hotline, or book online…
