Report: Browns thinking differently about backup quarterbacks than fans, media think

The Cleveland Browns might have some very difficult decisions to make for their initial 53-man roster but what they would do at the quarterback position seemed locked up. Deshaun Watson will start the season after missing most of last year, Jameis Winston was brought in to replace Joe Flacco as the veteran backup and Dorian Thompson-Robinson is the young, developing backup.

Tyler Huntley was brought in as a free agent in the middle of March but most believed he was either an injury insurance piece or just a training camp arm.

So far in the three preseason games, none of which Watson played, the other three quarterbacks have shown flashes of what they could be for the team. In the final preseason game, DTR took the field after Winston and completed 11 of 20 passes for 115 yards while Huntley took things over in the second half by completing 17 of 22 passes for 146 yards and three touchdowns…
