Dodgers News: Dalton Rushing Wins Prestigious Award

The Los Angeles Dodgers named prospect Dalton Rushing the Branch Rickey Minor League Player of the Year for the 2024 season, via Cary Osborne. The award, named in honor of the former Dodgers general manager who signed Jackie Robinson and came up with the modern farm system, is given annually to a Dodgers minor league Player.

Rushing wins the award playing for both Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City during the 2024 season. Rushing was promoted to Triple-A Oklahoma City for the first time this season, and slashed .269/.392/.477 for 35 hits, 22 runs, seven home runs, and 23 RBIs over 35 games. Overall on the season, Rushing slashed .270/.383/.501 with 111 hits, 66 runs, 24 home runs, and 82 RBIs over 112 total games in Double-A and Triple-A.

Rushing’s breakout season saw him propel up MLB.com’s top 100 prospects list. He ranked No. 46 on the list in the middle of the season and has now risen to No. 36 on the list.
