Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Pacific Coast Highway Investigated by Long Beach Police

A tragic incident unfolded late on the night of Sept. 19, 2024, when a male pedestrian was fatally struck by a Lexus sedan on Pacific Coast Highway at the intersection with Pasadena Avenue. According to information released by the Long Beach Police Department, the collision occurred at 11:51 p.m., drawing quick response from both police officers and Long Beach Fire Department personnel.

The victim, whose identity has yet to be officially disclosed pending notification of next of kin, was trying to cross south across Pacific Coast Highway outside of a marked crosswalk. He was transported to a local hospital but ultimately failed to fully recover from his injuries. The driver of the Lexus involved in the collision remained on the scene and has been reported to have cooperated with the ongoing investigation.
