LOUISVILLE, Ky. (KT) – There’s some good news for drivers who use the Sherman Minton Bridge, which carries Interstate 64 and U.S. 150 across the Ohio River between Louisville and Southern Indiana and has been undergoing a multi-year rehabilitation project.
As final construction activities wind down, all three lanes on both decks of the Sherman Minton bridge are now open to traffic, at least during daytime hours.
“Drivers have patiently awaited this milestone, and we know that full weekday access to the bridge is a relief,” said Danny Corbin, Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) project manager. “Aside from a final daytime bridge inspection in November to conclude the project, drivers should expect three open lanes during their weekday commutes.”…
