Boston’s Alex Cora ejected after blowing fuse about interference call vs. Twins

Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora was ejected in the first inning against the Minnesota Twins in the first game of a doubleheader on Sunday at Fenway Park.

It stemmed from Boston starting pitcher Nick Pivetta attempting to pick off the Twins’ Byron Buxton from second base as second baseman Vaughn Grissom applied the tag.

Minnesota’s manager Rocco Baldelli immediately ran onto the field to make a claim for interference with home plate umpire Sean Barber, who gathered the rest of the umpiring crew briefly before making the interference call and awarding Buxton third base…
